NCCU is excited to participate in its second celebration of National Corporate Compliance and Ethics Week®, which began in 2005 to shine a spotlight on the importance of compliance and ethics. The core principles of the week are awareness, recognition, and reinforcement.

  • Awareness: We will have daily activities for students, faculty, and staff to participate in with our compliance officer, including both virtual and in-person events.
  • Recognition: We will have a live virtual training session where we learn about the ways that NCCU stays in compliance with the many rules, policies and regulations from the UNC System and Department of Education. This session will discuss FERPA (student privacy), ADA compliance activities, reducing risks initiatives, and the use of AI and how it changes the landscape of compliance and ethics. We will have speakers from different departments on this training session.
  • Reinforcement: We will demonstrate how all levels of leadership at NCCU are committed to a culture of compliance and ethics. We will have an “Cookies and Compliance” session where you can meet the compliance officer and others in leadership to discuss the ways we are changing the climate surrounding compliance and ethics and how to get involved.

Keep a look out for the posters and advertisements on social media and campus on each daily activity. There will be prizes and NCCU swag giveaways all week long. If you have any questions about the week of activities, please contact the compliance officer, Lakisha Perry-Green, at 919-530-5519.
