The Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Research (IAIER) at North Carolina Central University, in partnership with Leidos, is hosting an AI Career Immersion Day Camp for high school students entering grades 11–12. This hands-on experience will introduce students to how artificial intelligence is transforming industries such as healthcare, defense, and advanced scanning technologies while providing opportunities to learn from industry professionals and explore real-world applications of AI.

Dr. Leah Floyd, a behavioral scientist in the Biomedical Biotechnology Research Institute (BBRI) and co-director of the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) Opioid Abatement Coordinating Center, has been appointed to the National HBCU Behavioral Health Workforce Curriculum Development Committee.
