The Diane Savage Dent Human Sciences Building, also known as the Dent Home Economics Building, was named in her honor for her contributions as an economist, professor, first chairperson of the Department of Home Economics (1938-1960), and co-sponsor and charter member of the North Carolina Association of Home Economists.
