Richard L. McDougald – John B. McLendon Arena (1950) was originally named the John B. McLendon Gymnasium in honor of this alumnus, banker, civic leader, financial contributor and devoted supporter of the university. The building was renamed to honor contributions and service of Coach John B. McLendon as a teacher, chair of the Department of Physical Education and basketball coach.
