October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month. NCCU proudly joins the national campaign led by Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA) to promote safer online habits and strengthen digital security.
To help our community stay informed and secure, NCCU will host the following activities throughout October:
- Cybersecurity Workshops and Webinars: Learn best practices for password management, phishing prevention, and secure online communication.
- October 21, 2025: Cybersecurity Awareness Month Speaker Session with Natasha Toler, M.S., CCO, CCPA, CASA, 3CE, CCE, forensic scientist at the MC Crime Lab.
- Interactive Cybersecurity Challenges: Test your knowledge and win prizes while learning to identify cyber threats.
- NCCU Online Cybersecurity Quiz: Available October 20–31, 2025. Participants with a passing score will be entered into a drawing for cool prizes.
- In-person event at the New Student Center: Featuring cybersecurity information, giveaways, and a chance to win free prizes! Join us on October 21 and October 28, 2025.
- October 21, 2025, 3–4 p.m.: Cybersecurity Fireside Chat with U.S. Senator Thom Tillis, NC. MS Teams virtual presentation. Access the presentation.
- Awareness Campaigns: Be on the lookout for emails, posters, and social media posts offering tips to protect your digital presence.
